This year is the ‘Year of Awesome Oracy!’ Each week we will introduce new, exciting and vibrant vocabulary to the class and we will give the children opportunities to talk about their work and to explain it to others..
Lost Words
In our first week we are looking at ‘The Lost Words’ by Robert Macfarlane. This book is about words that have been ‘lost’ from the dictionary! We have enjoyed a nature walk in our first week and describing our findings using vibrant vocabulary!
Traditional T
ales
This term we will looking at the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and ‘The Troll’ by Julia Donaldson. We will be writing our own traditional story and a story from an alternative view point using these books as our inspiration.
Maths
In maths we are learning through 'convince me maths.’
This term we will be learning about numbers and patterns.
Science
This term we are learning about animals including humans. We will be using our observation and investigating skills as well as our scientific questioning skills to learn all about animals including humans.
PE
This term PE is on a Monday and Wednesday. Please bring indoor and outdoor kit.
Please provide your child with a named PE kit and name all your child's school clothing. PE kit should be brought into school every Monday and left at school until Friday, so it is available as needed.
Homework + Spellings
Homework is given out on Wednesdays expected back every Monday.
