Welcome to Alverton Community Primary School

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the website for Alverton Community Primary School. I hope that it answers any questions you may have about our school.

Our children are at the heart of everything we do at Alverton. We are a school committed to providing an excellent education within a community that values and respects each child and the qualities each individual brings. We place vital importance on the physical and emotional well-being of our pupils and believe that children are better learners when they feel happy and secure.

At Alverton, we have a highly committed and enthusiastic staff team who are dedicated to supporting and guiding your child’s development academically, as well as nurturing their individual talents and abilities. We are very proud of our children and the community we create with them and their families.

Alverton has three core values which underpin all aspects of school life. These are ‘Care, Trust and Honesty’. Our vision is that all children achieve their potential and develop into caring, responsible and hardworking citizens. At Alverton, learning is fun and pupils are enthused and supported to achieve their very best. This is encapsulated in our school motto, ‘Together Everyone Achieves More.’

Our whole school theme this year is ‘Alverton’s Year of Writing’ which builds on the success of last year’s ‘Year of Reading’. We aim to inspire and enthuse children to write for pleasure, to demonstrate their learning across the curriculum and to communicate effectively with others.

At Alverton, we truly value the partnership between home and school and have an ‘open door’ policy, which means that parents and carers are welcome to visit or contact our school anytime. I am always able to make time to talk to parents and carers, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I hope that our website gives you an insight into Alverton, but to gain a true understanding of the school you are welcome to arrange a visit via the school office.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Alverton community.
